Last week I spent 5 days with the best girls on earth in the Abacos Islands to celebrate my 30th birthday.  For me, turning 30 required a few moments of reflection of where I've been and of course where I'm going.  All the books in the world can not prepare one for the trials and tribulations of life and business.  Just when you think you know exactly where your headed, a curve ball appears suddenly and requires immediate attention.  Life and business are very similar.  Each requires goals, integrity and compassion.  Goals will get you from point "A" to point "B", integrity directs you to do the right thing even when no one is watching and compassion allows you to recognize the BEST in everyone and everything.  At the end, in business and life...you will want people to remember the life changing impact you had on this world.  We can not choose our past but we are in total control of our future...go out there and start a business, dream the most unthinkable dream and chase it and love all the people you have been blessed to meet

The official licensee of Spirit Fingerz  is Imperial Headwear DBA Merge Left.  The heads of each of our companies met up at the 2011 Camex Show in Houston Texas.  Camex is an annual College Bookstore Tradeshow that boast thousands of buyers coming together to find the greatest products in the College Industry.  Pictured with me is National Sales Manager, John Hinkel, VP of Merge Left ,Matt Mueller and the CEO of Imperial Headwear, Doug Kelly.

In February, we were lucky enough to be invited to the set of Extreme Home Makeover while filming in Virginia Beach.  The Hill-Burdette Family, who has adopted several children and feed hundreds of homeless people in our area were selected to receive a makeover from the ABC reality show.  While we were on set, we handed out hundreds of Spirit Fingerz to volunteers, cast and crew.  What an awesome gift the family received a brand new house with a state of the art feeding station so they can continue their acts of kindness! I was delighted to be part of this EXTREMELY kind group of people and want to thank all of the volunteers for making the Hill-Burdette family's dream of a new home, come true!

I chose this to be my first blog post because pictured here with me is Tracy Nelms.  Tracy is the first person (and only to date) to ever ask for my autograph.  She made me feel like a rock star on a cold and rainy day in Blacksburg, VA.  My husband and I were returning to the place where it all started.  From the inception of the idea to the first order I ever received, my loyalties are with Virginia Tech forever.  It was only appropriate for this 1st time!
